As a Dog Trainer Apprentice, you will learn the skills necessary to communicate with a dog with basic and advanced training programs. You’ll learn how to coach clients so that they can communicate with their dogs using the Taking The Lead system. You will also be an integral part of setting up and taking down the training facility equipment and helping maintain an environment for our clients and their dogs to thrive.
Upon graduating from your apprenticeship program, you will be given the opportunity to become a full-time trainer for Taking The Lead.
Responsibilities:
Genuinely caring for dogs’ and clients’ health and safety while in our care
Learn, apply and uphold company standards as a brand of professional dog trainers
Continued education and self-reflection
Provide assistance to trainers and instructors while in sessions or evaluations
Become familiar with programs and how to communicate with clients
Letting out and walking dogs
Taking part in social media posting
Inputting client data into computer software
Helping maintain the training equipment and facility
Interact professionally and effectively with all clients and store partners regarding Dog Training or other pet services.
Experience & Requirements:
Previous experience as a dog trainer is welcomed but it is not required as training will be provided to get you started.
A reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license is required
Great attitude and motivation to learn
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $15/hour during apprenticeship
Shift Schedule: (Full-time) 7 am to 4 pm or 11am to 8pm
